Real-time accountability between citizens and the people who represent them โ at every level of government, from school board to Senate.
The Founders designed a system premised on the consent of the governed. But they had no mechanism for continuous consent. Elections happen every 2โ6 years. In between, there is nothing.
That gap is where democracy dies. It's filled by lobbyists, donors, and inertia โ not by citizens. Not by the people the government is supposed to serve.
The result: representatives who govern against their constituents' stated will, consistently, knowing there are no real-time consequences. The system has no input mechanism between elections.
From knowing who represents you, to voicing your opinion on live legislation, to holding representatives accountable with a score that follows them everywhere.
Not magic. Not ideology. A specific, mechanical intervention โ replacing low-frequency electoral signals with a continuous, verified stream of constituent preference.
"Of the people. By the people. For the people has always been the promise. Voter is the mechanism."
Democracy doesn't sort by profession. Neither does Voter. But depending on who you are, here's specifically how it changes your world.
No advertising. No selling user data. No political funding that could compromise the scores. Here's how the lights stay on.
Voter was built by a citizen who got tired of waiting for someone else to do it. Alex Graybar spent a decade at the intersection of technology and mission โ enterprise SaaS at Adobe and Marketo, civic entrepreneurship at Voter, international development consulting in Rwanda, Guatemala, and Mexico, and board leadership at Natik Esperanza.
He founded Voter during his MBA at The Fletcher School at Tufts University, driven by a specific frustration: the tools to participate in democracy between elections didn't exist. You could look up your representative. You could call their office. But there was no mechanism to make your ongoing voice part of the permanent record.
The app is already live on the App Store. The jurisdictional mapping, the representative directory, the elections data โ all of it built and working. What comes next is the accountability engine: the live decision feed, the verified sentiment layer, the Representation Fidelity Score.
He is also the author of Being Human, which argues that the disconnection driving so many systemic failures โ including the breakdown of democratic trust โ is ultimately a human connection problem. Voter is the technological expression of that belief.
Voter is live. The movement is early. Every person who joins makes the data more powerful and the accountability scores more credible.
